Itinerary of the Full Day visit

Time: 7:00 am - 5:00pm IST (Breakfast and Lunch will be provided.)

Donation for the visit to our NGO: ₹1800/- per person. (includes Travel costs)
₹750/- per person. (Self Drive)

Tour Schedule

7:00 am- Assemble at reCharkha EcoSocial Pune Store. Leave Pune Sharp!
8:30 AM -Reach reCharkha's Village unit at Bhor
8:30 to 9:00 AM - Guided Walk through our EcoSocial Village site, and learn the different aspects of Sustainable Development that we have setup, including Sustainable Construction, Waste water treatment, Native tree plantation, Tiny home living and lots more!
9:00 to 10:00 AM:Tea and Breakfast. Introduction to reCharkha, with our Founder, Amita Deshpande
10:30AM – 12:30 PM:Experience reCharkha's Upcycling process HANDS-ON.. Segregate Waste, Design Patterns, Weave on the Charkha and Handloom and Loads of interaction with our Rural Artisans!
12:30 – 1:00 PM:Lunch and Chit-chat
1:00 PM – 2:30 PM:Learn the craft of Origami Basketry, and make some upcycled souvenirs for yourself!
2:30 PM - 3:30 PM:Drive back to our Pune tailoring unit and Store in Karvenagar.
3:30 PM – 5:00 PM:Experience the Product Design and Tailoring process and Shop some goodies with a special DISCOUNT for you!
5:00 PM:Group photo and goodbye!

Highlights of the Tour

  1. Hands-on UPCYCLING Experience using a Charkha and Handloom.
  2. Learning the Origami Basketry Process of Upcycling
  3. Understanding Sustainable Architecture and Construction Techniques
  4. Walk through our plantation of Native Trees and learn interesting facts and uses
  5. Understanding our Eco-Friendly Waste Water Treatment Plant.
  6. Tour of our Coon - A Tiny Home of our Founder
  7. Interaction with Village Artisans and our Founder, Amita Deshpande

Things to Carry

  1. Bring a bottle of water. We have a refill facility.
  2. An empty metal tiffin box, mug, spoon. You will be using these to have your breakfast and chai/other drink. This is because we want to inculcate responsible travel behaviour!
  3. Closed Sandals or shoes are recommended for the walk through our EcoSocial Village.
  4. Caps/scarves and sunglasses in summers and an Umbrella/raincoat for the rainy season
